Explore why Uzbekistan is set to be a top travel destination in 2026 and how ESCAPE is redefining cultural experiences in India.
In a world where travel continues to evolve beyond sightseeing into immersive cultural discovery, Uzbekistan has emerged as one of the most compelling destinations for 2026. Known for its Silk Road heritage, magnificent architecture, vibrant crafts and warm hospitality, the Central Asian nation is capturing the imagination of global explorers seeking depth, authenticity and artistic richness. It was against this backdrop of rising cultural curiosity that ESCAPE, Goa’s newest premium lifestyle destination hub, hosted a spectacular evening celebrating the splendour of Uzbekistan.
Curated by internationally acclaimed designer Ritu Beri, ESCAPE is envisioned as a sanctuary where art, travel, culture and luxury seamlessly converge. Nestled in the heart of Goa, the hub is fast becoming a creative landmark—an experiential space that blends curated retail, gastronomy, craftsmanship, workshops, performances and design-led storytelling. Beri’s signature approach—timeless, global and deeply rooted in artistic tradition—infuses ESCAPE with a sense of narrative and purpose, making it an ideal setting for cultural diplomacy and creative collaborations.
On 3rd December 2025, ESCAPE opened its doors for an unforgettable evening dedicated to the heritage of Uzbekistan. The event drew dignitaries, cultural connoisseurs, designers and storytellers into a world inspired by Silk Road poetry, Ikat textiles, ancient motifs and handcrafted artistry.
The celebration was led by His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India, accompanied by a distinguished Uzbek delegation. Their participation underscored the strengthening cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan—a connection rooted in history, trade and artistic exchange. Goa’s Honourable Minister Rohan Khaunte also graced the gathering, reflecting the state’s growing commitment to global cultural integration.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Rustambaev shared, “Events like this strengthen the bond between our nations and highlight the beauty of Uzbekistan’s artistic legacy. We are delighted to see our culture celebrated at a space as inspiring as ESCAPE.”
Guests were treated to an evocative experience that celebrated Uzbekistan’s soul—its iconic Ikat fabrics, intricate craftsmanship, folktales, architectural splendour and contemporary creative identity. Through immersive displays, curated visuals and design narratives, ESCAPE transported attendees to the historic cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, each a UNESCO treasure drawing travellers from around the world.
As global travel predictions indicate, Uzbekistan is set to become one of 2026’s most sought-after destinations, especially for those seeking culturally rich itineraries. From its blue-domed mosques and bustling bazaars to its caravanserais, artisans and culinary charms, the country offers a rare blend of authenticity and grandeur that appeals to modern wanderers.
The evening also highlighted the vision of ESCAPE’s founder, Ritu Beri, celebrated internationally as one of India’s foremost fashion designers and the Cultural & Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India. In her address, Beri said, “Uzbekistan is a land of extraordinary beauty, craftsmanship and soul. It is an honour to represent its culture, and tonight at ESCAPE reflects our shared belief in preserving and celebrating global heritage.”
With events like these, ESCAPE continues to shape Goa’s cultural landscape, positioning itself as a global hub where creativity, heritage and community intersect. For travellers, creators and culture enthusiasts, ESCAPE is not just a destination—it is an invitation to explore the world through artistry.
