Award-winning indie band Music UnLtd., led by Milin, releases its new soft-rock single I Like Green Eyes Too, blending Indian classical instruments with contemporary indie rock.

India’s independent music scene continues to evolve with artists who are unafraid to experiment, reflect, and tell honest stories. Music UnLtd., the award-winning indie band led by composer and musician Milind Chitnavis, known professionally as Milin, adds another compelling chapter to its journey with the release of its latest single, I Like Green Eyes Too. Available across all major streaming platforms, the song blends emotional storytelling with a rich, cross-genre sound that reflects both musical maturity and creative depth.

At its core, I Like Green Eyes Too is a soft-rock composition that feels intimate and reflective. What sets the track apart is its seamless fusion of Indian classical instruments with contemporary arrangements. The sarod and tabla are woven gently into a soundscape built on acoustic guitar, piano, bass guitar, drums, and the warm resonance of the cello. Rather than overpowering the melody, each instrument finds its space, creating a layered yet restrained listening experience.

The result is a song that feels familiar and unexpected at the same time, appealing to listeners who enjoy thoughtful songwriting as much as sonic experimentation.

A story of quiet endings and emotional clarity

Lyrically, the song explores a theme rarely addressed with such sensitivity in popular music: the mutual acknowledgment of a relationship that has run its course. Instead of conflict or heartbreak, the narrative focuses on emotional honesty and the relief that comes from accepting change. The couple at the heart of the song chooses to part ways amicably, making space for growth rather than regret. This understated emotional approach gives the song its quiet power.

Milin’s musical journey and influences

Milin wears many hats as a composer, lyricist, singer, and guitarist, and his musical background reflects a deep commitment to craft. His journey began in Nagpur with early exposure to light Indian music during his school years. College life in Mumbai saw him performing as a singer-guitarist with a band at Sydenham College, setting the foundation for his future in independent music.

His pursuit of formal training took him to the Guitar Institute of Technology at the Musicians’ Institute in Hollywood, California. Alongside this, he studied piano privately in Mumbai and trained in Hindustani classical vocals under Pandit Yeshwant Mahale and Raghunandan Panshikar. His mentors include respected guitarists such as Kimbo Smith, Dan Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Ron Eschete, and Joe Diorio, influences that continue to shape his sound.

Collaborations across genres

Over the years, Milin has collaborated with several well-known vocalists, bringing diverse voices into the Music UnLtd. universe. His work includes songs with Prasad Salian, Shilpa Surroch, and Vivienne Pocha, each collaboration adding a distinct colour to his discography. These partnerships highlight his versatility and openness to creative exchange.

Music UnLtd. and Milin have earned international recognition for their work. Their 2024 release It Crossed My Mind received the Best Original Song award at the Cannes World Film Festival and garnered honours at global music and video awards in France and beyond. Their debut EP And Then I Saw Her also received accolades in Los Angeles, reinforcing their credibility on the global indie stage.

With I Like Green Eyes Too, Music UnLtd. and Milin continue to prove that independent music thrives on authenticity, thoughtful storytelling, and fearless experimentation. The song stands as a reminder that endings can be gentle, music can be layered, and indie artists from India are creating work that resonates far beyond borders.
