Traya featured as a health-tech trailblazer in JioHotstar’s new series Heroes

JioHotstar’s new series Heroes celebrates innovators reshaping their industries, and this year, Traya has taken centre stage as one of India’s most impactful health-tech changemakers. The feature highlights Traya’s journey from a personal struggle to a nationwide movement, one that has transformed how India understands and treats hair loss—with empathy, science and deep human connection at its core.

A mission born from a personal story

Traya was founded in 2019 by Saloni and Altaf after a difficult chapter in their own lives. When Altaf faced chronic health issues that led to severe hair loss, the couple discovered that most treatments offered temporary fixes, cosmetic promises or confusing advice. That experience sparked a new mission: to rebuild hair health at the root level using science, not shortcuts.

“Traya was never started with a thought process that it will be a company. The whole concept of mixing science, allopathy and Ayurveda was started to solve my problem,” shares Altaf, co-founder of Traya.

What began as a deeply personal quest evolved into a health-tech brand that has now guided over 1.2 million Indians toward real, sustainable hair regrowth and renewed confidence.

Traya stands out in a crowded haircare landscape by combining three disciplines—Ayurveda, Dermatology and Nutrition. The brand’s doctor-led approach follows a single guiding belief: hair loss is not a vanity issue but a health concern that must be approached holistically.

Each Traya customer undergoes a detailed hair test that evaluates lifestyle, digestion, sleep, hormonal balance and stress levels. Based on this analysis, personalised treatment plans are created by a panel of experts across the three sciences. The system is designed to address internal imbalances first, ensuring long-term regrowth rather than cosmetic masking.

“At Traya, every journey begins with care and ends with confidence,” says co-founder Saloni Anand. “Each customer is guided by a doctor and a dedicated hair coach who continuously personalise the treatment. This isn’t just about hair—it’s an emotional journey we take together.”

With more than 90 per cent of Traya’s team directly involved in customer health outcomes, the company has set a new benchmark for accountability and care in the health-tech world.

A new era for haircare

Traya’s appearance on Heroes positions the brand as a beacon of authenticity in an industry long dominated by cosmetic quick fixes. The show highlights how Traya’s transparency—even rejecting stage 6 and 7 baldness cases—has built trust among users seeking realistic, medically sound solutions.

By openly prioritising doctor-led diagnosis and rejecting one-size-fits-all products, Traya has shifted India’s conversation from haircare to hair health.

For Traya, the future extends beyond India’s borders. “Our vision is to be the biggest health-tech company, not just in India, but globally,” Altaf says. The founders plan to apply their science-backed, solution-driven model to other chronic health conditions, expanding the brand’s impact while staying true to its mission: empowering people to become heroes of their own health.

By blending scientific expertise, emotional support and radical transparency, Traya has rewritten the playbook for hair health in India. Its feature on Heroes is not just a recognition of its achievements, but a celebration of millions of personal transformations. In a space often clouded by exaggerated claims and temporary fixes, Traya stands out as a health-tech brand driven by purpose, compassion and real results.
